Doug believes that communication and trust are the keys to a successful attorney-client relationship. For that reason, Doug makes it a priority to take the time to listen to his client’s concerns and to make sure that his clients understand the legal issues in their cases.

Doug is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law and has been representing clients in personal injury and wrongful death cases since 1992. Doug has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers magazine every year since 2019. Less than 5 percent of attorneys are recognized as Super Lawyers. Doug has achieved an “AV” peer review rating by Martindale Hubbell. The “AV” rating represents the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards in the legal profession.

Doug is very involved in community service, especially in projects benefitting children. Doug has volunteered as a guardian ad litem, representing the interests of children in dependency and family law cases. Doug is also a frequent speaker in local schools and coordinates the law firm’s holiday card contest for special education students.

Doug served on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee which investigates ethical complaints against attorneys. Doug chaired the committee in 2018. Doug also serves as a mediator in the Florida Bar’s Grievance Mediation and Fee Arbitration Program. Doug is also a volunteer mentor in the Florida Bar’s Lawyers Advising Lawyers Program.

Doug enjoys sharing his love of the courtroom with young lawyers and future lawyers. Doug has been a judge in the National Trial Advocacy Tournament, sponsored by the University of Florida College of Law, and has also judged mock trial competitions for his undergraduate alma mater, the University at Albany. Doug also mentors students in the legal studies program at the University of Central Florida.
